Stoirm Volleyball Club

The Club provides a quality volleyball experience for local athletes at all skill levels. We provide Learn to Play programming for U12, and teams for ages U14-U18. We strive to ensure that skilled players are challenged and (typically) receive opportunities to play in significant provincial and national events, however for 2021 the club has had to pivot to a house league, skill development model with internal community play only.

Happy New Year! We are so excited to finally welcome you back to Stoírm Volleyball for 2021.

As you can imagine there have been some challenges in how we are able to operate this year. However, we are confident that we have been able to create programming that will allow your child to continue to develop their volleyball skills, but also their teamwork, leadership, and communication skills that will benefit them off the court.

Please take the time to carefully review all the 2021 Season information and acquaint yourself with Sport Hub before Registering. As this may be the first time you use the Sport Hub site, there are some additional steps required for set up that this document will help guide you through. Once these steps are complete, future registrations will be quick and easy!

Should you have any questions or concerns beyond the information provided, please do not hesitate to contact us at

We look forward to having you join us again this season!

Due to limited gym availability, gathering limits, facility COVID protocols, and guidance from Volleyball Nova Scotia, we are pivoting to a house-league development program for this season. It will run from the week of January 25th to the week of April 30th

The commitment will be 1x/week* in order to ensure that every age group has an opportunity to play, develop their skills, and compete in-house (*any additional times are currently unlikely due to facility availability).

Stoírm will not be competing in any VNS Provincial tournament this year (if they happen) as we do not have the facility availability to accommodate extra practices for competition teams.

There is a possibility that some groups will have the opportunity to compete in exhibition matches or mini jamboree-like tournaments with other neighboring clubs. There is no expectation for Stoírm athletes to participate if this becomes an opportunity, and it is currently unknown if or when this could even happen, given the current NSHA provincial COVID restrictions and guidelines. If this does occur, there would be an additional shared cost among those who choose to participate, due at that time.

Who can Register?

Due to gathering limits, Stoírm athletes who were registered in 2020 only will be accepted first.

We know that you may have friends who wish to join Stoírm who were not registered in 2020 (even if they were registered before 2020). These individuals are asked to email the athlete’s name, birthdate, and grade to Admin at to have their name added to a waitlist. This information will be posted soon on our social media platform for new members, and these athletes will be added to groups on a first come first serve basis, as space permits. Please no phone calls or social media messages – only new requests via email will be considered.

How do I Register?

Registration will be through . We are excited to be a part of this new collaborative initiative and unique online platform in the Antigonish Community.  Please take your time to acquaint yourself with this new platform and payment process (PayPal).

Registration will be open January 8th – 15th, 2021. If 2020 athletes do not register during this time we cannot guarantee a spot. Cost is $50 per athlete.

  • This fee is non-refundable after the season start date of January 25th (or the first day teams start, should there be unanticipated delays)
  • Any additional costs associated with travel to neighboring communities for exhibition competition will be shared among participating athletes.
  • Registration fee includes $17 insurance fee to Volleyball Nova Scotia. Remaining costs are required to cover disinfectant supplies for each group for the season, as well as printing costs for waivers, first aid supplies, etc. A small portion will also be set aside for general costs associated equipment replenishment, coaching courses, etc.

Cost for the season is $50.00 per athlete. There are no family rates this year for additional children.

Please DO NOT make payment until your registration status has been CONFIRMED. You will receive an email and see the status change on your Sport Hub account when you are confirmed. Be sure to keep an eye on your junk mail, and mark us safe if these emails go there.

For the 2021 season, Stoirm will only be accepting payment via Paypal. The Paypal button is located on the Family Management page in the "Transaction Totals" chart. This chart is only visible after you have submitted registration. Click the Paypal button and Simply put the fee amount ($50)* into the "Price per item" field and hit continue. *If you are paying for more than one participant, you can input a different amount (ex. 2 participants = $100, 3 participants = $150, 4 participants = $200, etc.)

Groups and Scheduling

Practice dates/times will be determined once registration is complete. Groups will be notified as soon as possible about start dates and locations.

Note that we have gym times currently booked at Saint Andrew Junior School (SAJS), Antigonish Education Center (AEC) and East Antigonish Education Center (EAEC) on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. The earliest practices on these days begin at 5pm. We currently do not have times on Thursday/Friday or on the weekend.
