Resources for Volunteers

This page is a work in progress. It is going to be a repository of information for Coaches, Officials, and other volunteers/leaders within the local sport community. Please keep in mind, each sport/organization likely has it's own "pathway" to becoming a volunteer so you want to check with your favourite org before starting your development. Each organization is working on having this type of info about how to get involved on each of their unique details pages here on Sport Hub. We are currently gathering content for this page and hope to have more to show you soon. In the meantime, check out some of the resources below:

Responsible Coaching Movement

The RCM is a multi-phase movement that affects all sport organizations and coaches across Canada. It stems from extensive and ongoing consultation with the sport community in Canada that showed us some of the systemic issues in sport, the role various parties play, and strategies for addressing these issues.

Rule of two

The goal of the Rule of Two is to ensure all interactions and communications are open, observable and justifiable. Its purpose is to protect participants (especially minors) and coaches in potentially vulnerable situations by ensuring more than one adult is present. There may be exceptions for emergency situations.
