Based on Volleyball age Categories, generally the age groups are as follows: 
13U & 12U: Athletes born on September 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012 (inclusive of 12U age category)

For 2024 we do not have enough athletes or available coaches for a 14U boys travel squad, however do have interest at the 13U and 12U age levels with new athletes looking to learn and develop in the sport. In this 1x/week program, athletes will be introduced to the sport, and develop skills that can be performed under easy and stable conditions. The goal is to build and demonstrate consistency, control, and precision within game situations. Triple Ball will be introduced and provide athletes the opportunity build and maintain these skills under pressure, when conditions change, or demands increase. Athletes will be buddied with older athletes in the club as part of our new Stoirm Buddies program to encourage leadership and mentorship. 

This is not a travel squad, however there may be an opportunity to play neighboring clubs for added experience. 

In an effort to incorporate Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD),  Tripleball the official competition format for the 13U division. The main catalyst for Volleyball Nova Scotia’s recommendation of Tripleball is the increased probability of creating a rally. Building up rallies and experiencing success early on is an integral part of learning and enjoying the game of volleyball.
