Based on Volleyball age Categories, generally the age groups are as follows: 
16U: Athletes born between September 1, 2007 and Dec 31, 2010 (inclusive of 14U category)

*For boys' volleyball in Nova Scotia, the age categories are limited to 14U, 16U and 18U. As such we combine the 15U and 16U age groups. 

The focus of the 16U Program is to continue to develop and refine skills that can be used with increased consistency when the athlete is under pressure, conditions change, or demands increase. Team systems and position specialization is further discussed and developed, with individual and position specific training is provided. (LTAD, Volleyball Canada)
